I currently have an IPOD 30Gb, but it’s not doing to well with all the running.
I need help deciding between the shuffle and Iriver.
I have an Iriver (similar to the 795) and I am not that pleased with the controls. Also, the arm band is not ultra comfortable and a bit bulky. The way that the unit attaches to the arm band is a bit worrysome.
One thing that really bothers me about the Iriver is that I have to change the mode to shuffle every time I start up the player. Then there is the problem of needing to find my reading glasses in order to be able to tell if I actually set the cryptic mode symbol to shuffle.
On a positive note, I like the color.
I have seen the future and it looks a lot like a shuffle.

I have a 40 GB Ipod, a 6 GB Ipod mini and a 1 GB Shuffle… I love all of them! I use the mini or the Shuffle for running, I’ve never had a problem with my mini skipping… the Shuffle is pretty sweet as well, some people don’t like the fact that it doesn’t have a screen but I don’t mind, it is incredibly small and light and is perfect for running or using at the gym. I’d highly recomment the Shuffle.
I have a 20G and a Shuffle, and another MP3 player. Get a Shuffle. It will be compatible with the song lists.
I have the 4GB mini and its okay for winter running, but I bought a Shuffle for the summer. Works great! Only downside is where to put it while running since it doesnt come with a clip. However, its so small in light I have been putting in the key pocket iof my shorts.
Shuffle on with your runs. You will like it. I had a rio it was crap. I shot the rio to death with my wrist rocket slingshot. I felt so good to be free from the rio curse.

I have the 1Gig iriver, I think it’s an 895 but I’m not sure. I really like it. I am the type of person that most of the time I get in a mood where I only want to listen to 1 type of music so instead of putting it on shuffle I have several different playlists and I just go to the one I like for that day. I also will sometimes listen to the same song 10 times in a row and I don’t know how easy it is to find that one song on the ipod shuffle. I also like the i-rivers FM radio, again I’m not sure if the shuffle has that.
I just bought a shuffle for the same reason; my ipod (me at times, too) went stupid on the run too often. Shuffle uses the same itunes software and fits right on the back of the hat.
Hi again… should add this info as well, the only thing I don’t really like about the Shuffle so far is that it charges through a USB port only, I have a wall mount and dock for both my other Ipods which is great but the Shuffle has to be charged through a USB port which isn’t very convenient especially when traveling. I’m sure they might sell some sort of aftermarket accessory to allow you to charge through a wall outlet or whatever but I don’t have it…yet. I also don’t like the slide button on the Shuffle, sometimes it’s hard to slide on/off if you’re sweaty! Other than those things it is awesome!
I have a 10gb ipod and a shuffle. The shuffle is held on the back of my running hat with an elastic band, works a treat. It rocks me along.
