Internal cable routing help

Building up a Ridley Dean, and the front derailler housing runs internally to a built-in housing stop at the BB. That easy enough, issue is that once I run cable through the housing, its making it to the stop, but not making it through. Tried running a cable backwards then running the housing, than putting in another cable the proper direction but that didn’t work…any tips?

Using 4mm shift housing if it makes a difference.

When you ran the cable in reverse, what about that procedure didn’t work? Is it that you couldn’t get the cable to come out at the top tube, or something else?

If you can get a cable to run in either direction, you’re home free. Once the cable is run, then slide housing over it (it’s okay if the cable only goes in part way). Don’t pull that cable out. Once the housing is in place, run a second cable in the normal way (through your shifters and bars), and when it gets to the end of the housing, it will push the cable out, and should find its way out of the bike.

When I run the second cable back the proper way, it succesfully pushes the reverse cable out, but still doesn’t make it through the stop.

just routed some tricky cables through my P4alu, and had the best success:

Put cable through housing but leave about a foot of cable sticking out the end, then route that through the first hole, then work on getting that cable through the next hole, and pull it all through including housing.
