I have developed a thigh pain while running. Wondering if anyone has any thought on what it could be? It is not debilitating, but I will see the doctor shortly.
The pain is in my right thigh. Runs from my inside thigh up in the groin muscle area down to just above the knee. It radiates a sticking sharp pain with impact on the ground. Goes away after a day or two, but comes back during the run. Also, it seems to occur after sitting and then getting up to walk.
Thoughts?
Could be a hammy… Do you do any exercises for your legs, and if you do, do you include hamstring exercises as well? (Leg curls, deadlifts). When those muscles get out of balance with your quads, they can definitely cause you some pain.
Could also be sartorius… which is a little more along the lines of where you describe the pain to be.
stretch, foam roll, ART
.
Interesting thoughts…have not done any leg weight training since racing season started.
stretch, foam roll, ART
… and YEAH… stretching is key. The foam roller is great for the IT band (but that’s outside of the thigh).
you can get the inside pretty good too, just takes some creativity
.
Go to this site and identify the actual muscle that is giving you probelms. There are several muscle that it could be. Then spend a day searching the web!!

That is an amazing reference. Thanks…
From that picture, the pain I am experiencing radiates along the Satorius muscle. Tonight I finished a 5K run, and the pain was minimal. It seems to be getting better each day.
Thanks, I will search for Satorius Muscle injuries.
