How much stroller running is too much? Has anyone seen gains or loses?
.
Anybody?
was probly doin bout 20 miles a week on my longest weeks with the baby in the run up to the superfrog last week, longets run 12 miles
no injuries, do think it makes me stronger, almost like a hill workout, probly add bout 40 secs per mile though
my running isnt very focused though, i just try to get miles in, went 5,03 at superfrog, run was 1,51, 6 miles on the beach

I’ve been running with a stroller since my son was born about 14 months ago up to a maximum of 22k and a total of 40k a week. Haven’t had any injuries (touch wood) I do however try and just use one hand on the handle at a time and swap every kilometre or so that the load is spread evenly on either side.
hi
I know martin dent - an aussie marathoner PB < 2h 15min does lots and lots of work with the stoller

There is a gal who runs with a twin stroller on one of my regular running loops. She has been doing it for at least a couple of years now. She makes me think of the story of Milo who picked up the calf everyday. It use to be that I would reel her in very quickly any time she came into my sights. Recently she’s pretty much matching my speed even with the kids having grown a good deal. She is scary powerful going up the hills with that rig.
Great info, thanks!!!
Definitely a slightly different runing motion, expecially if thre are fairly steep hills involved. My inside quads were pretty sore after a 9.5 mile run on Sunday. I suspect the uphills were the major factor. Just something to consider. I’m not sure if I’d want to do a tempo run pushing the stroller unless it was pretty flat… which isn’t really an option where I live, even just running residential streets.
