Some nice ideas in there, I kinda like the timeline you can click and drag. Like the pie chart too.
Is there a way you can change the date input box to behave like in Microsoft access where you can use pretty much any date format you want and it will figure it out-
9/12/08
9/12/8
9 12 8
9 12
its all Sept. 12 2008 which is pretty cool IMO
The week and month summaries are great, but in addition to time and distance they should have pace, either km/h or mph for bike, min per mile or min per km for run and i dunno, time per 100m i guess for swim ( I dont record swim distance, only time)
assigning a pair of shoes to run workouts is nice to track shoe mileage
i like how you can see other peoples logs too, but when you view other logs it should automatically convert the paces to your own local unit of measure. So if a Canadian looks at an Americans log it shows bike speed in km/h rather than mph.
Looks really good, I am sure you have lots of other ideas that are in the works and I realize how long this stuff takes!
I like the fact that its simple, I would like to have the pace show up on the page with all of the workouts, as oppossed to having to click on the specific workout. I like being able to see the different paces for my week all on one page.
Also, I would like to see a way to make a race report entry on a specific day.
Also, the menus across the top don’t show up unless I actually hover my mouse over them. I didn’t even know that they were there and discovered them just by accident.
I found an error when i create a workout. I added some routes of 6, 6.6 miles and when i select them in the creation of a workout they come back as 9.6 and 10.6. thoughts?
Hi, and thanks for the feedback. It’s definitely possible to recognize more date formats.
It’s a matter of a little time and effort. My guess is that there will be more serious issues that needs to be fixed first, so we’ll see when/if we get to this.
It’s a nice feature though.
The problem with showing pace (or speed or any other info) is that there is already not very much space.
So if we add pace, all summaries will likely span 2 lines which looks odd. But we’ll see if we can make it work out.
Equipment tracking (shoes, tires, bikes, swim wear etc) is something we have discussed. It will likely be added at some point,
but can’t say when. Depends on priorities and time, and Dan has the last word here.
For converting other peoples logs to your units; I agree, and it’s something I’ve worked on. It’s fixed in the development version I have,
but not sure when it might get introduced into the live site.
Finally, thanks for taking the time to give feedback!
We do have a lot of cool features either planned or in the works. It’s a lot of work developing this stuff though (especially since I’m one person with a wife and a 14 month old and a day job), so I am not able to give any precise timeline for features…
Hi! Yes, I agree that pace should be visible in the list, week and month (as a hover) views.
Race reports are also a nice feature. Not sure what Dan or Jordan has in mind here, I’ll let them comment on this.
But it can definitely be done.
Is it me, or is it difficult to navigate, I feel like a home link on all pages would make it easier to get back to my home page after editing workouts for example, or after viewing another’s workout.
Which menus are not showing up? The main menus (like Home | Workouts | Goals etc) or the update menus (like Log workout | Plan workout etc)?
What browser/OS are you on? We currently support Firefox 2 and 3, IE6 and 7 and Safari.
Hi! There is a home link on all pages (on the top blue bar). (Home | Workouts | Goals | Members | Messages).
Are you not seeing these? Or am I misunderstanding your comment?
Click on “Edit” In the top right of the middle section
A dialog is popped up. Do your edits and press ok
The dialog disappears, the workout is updated with new values, and a message is displayed under the Home link (saying “Workout edited”)
Which of these steps do not look like the screenshots for you? What browser/OS are you using? We currently support Firefox 2 and 3, IE6 and 7 and Safari.
Right, the top menus, Home | Workouts | Goals etc. I am running IE7.
BTW, I know you are/will be inundated with bugs, requests, etc. and it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the shear number of it. So before all of that happens, I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks for putting the effort in this especially given your other priorities.
Ok, I will check it out in IE7. It’s most likely to work as expected in FF, because that’s what I use. But we will make it work in the other major browsers too.
And your welcome! It’s fun to do these projects, even though they take some time.
