Info on Vermilion Harbour Triathlon?

If anyone here has done this race, can you give me a description of the course.

Thanks

Bump.
I’ll be in Amherst,Oh. this weekend and was considering this race, too. My husband is from the area and says the swim is in a partially protected area of Lake Erie. The rest, I don’t know. Maybe we’ll see ya there.

Last year was the first year for the race. Very nice venue. Different from the typical HFP event because the transition area is in an old private park just off the lake. Grass transition surrounded by large trees and cottages.

Swim is rectangle in Lake Erie. Short run on sand uphill to transition. Long run on grass out of transition to the road leading out of the park. Ride through town for short distance. Road out of town was bumpy last year. The sprint course, which I did last year, is very flat and fast but I heard there were a couple of short steep climbs and descents (river valley) on the 40K course.

The run course is out and back starting with a grassy section through the park along the shore, then a short winding section on a lakeshore road before heading into downtown and beside the local harbor.

The bike course was quite crowded for the short segment through town. Caution is advised.

Community was excited about the event last year. Excellent addition to the HFP schedule. I love the feel of the transition area. See you there!

Thanks for the description Mark,

I just didn’t want to show up with a 11-23 if it is going to be a course like East Fork (which was awesome by the way

I’m driving down on sat with the GF…see you there.
