Inflating a tire on a disc...durring a race

The problem I have is this, I’ve decided to use my Zipp disc at IMLP this year but I have no idea how to inflate the tire if I get a flat. My CO2 inflater will not fit in the hole. Any suggestions?

I carry my crack pipe (disc wheel pump adapter) with me just in case.

try stopping the bike first!

seriously, can you pull the valve out of the hole (sort of angled). I do this with mine and have no problem. I tried the crack pipe and couldn’t get a high psi.

Get one of the right angle race CO2 heads. . .like this:

Here’s a whole kit from Innovations:

There are others out there, just look around a bit. These will all work perfectly with your disc. Just be sure to mount the chuck head solidly prior to the CO2 cartridge.

Funny you ask this question. I just had my LBS put on my new Renn disc this past week while they were doing the tune-up. As I was leaving to go to Tupper Lake I noticed that there was no way I could fit my pump in the hole so I stopped by the shop. The guy said I needed a short valve stem and a different pump (the one posted above). Of course he didn’t have any 650 tubes with a short valve stem so he told me I could just pull the stem gently out to the side of the hole and will work.
