I recently ordered an Indy Fab 953 frameset that I will be building up. I have about 6 more weeks before it arrives. one component that i am undecided on is the crankset. dura ace or carbon? I have both on my other bikes and am equally satisfied with both. it comes down to asthetics, and the nagging question in my brain, should i put a carbon crankset on a stainless steel frame (BTW…finish will be brushed, no paint). The carbon side of my brain says it ok since i am using carbon bars.

BTW…anybody out there have a 953 from IF…how do you like it?

There aren’t many out there… under 35, and I think the actual number is closer to 27. No-one has made anywhere close to as many bikes out of 953 as Indy - I think the next closest builder is still in the low single digits…
From what I hear it rides really nicely and it does look awesome - but it’s kind of a bitch to work with. Not impossible - but even the Reynolds guys were saying “it’s doable”.
