Fortunately I now live where I can bike outside year round
Used to live near Buffalo and use rollers with a turbine to increase resistance in the winter
Anyone use rollers?

I had been using them from January 2010 to April 2017. I liked them a lot and thought they had decent road feel. Swapped them for a smart trainer last year and will likely not be looking back, but rollers get my vote over regular trainers. Also, my smart trainer requires AC power. My rollers don’t require electricity to run
A set of Elite Arion mags with a Krietler Killer Headwind attachment for more resistance for low cadence work, and a Stages PM.
As I’m too lazy to inflate my tyres most of the time, I find that 28s at 55 psi give enough resistance most of the time with the mag resistance.
They rock - the only problem I find is when I’m on Zwift and try leaning into the corners. Not fun on the bars. And I do struggle on my current setup to spend more than 5 mins in the aero position.
Was thinking about one of the new Kickr Cores because they’re nice and quiet, but one has to ask whether the neighbours care that much - especially as our next door one is usually out of the door by 0615…
I have used regular rollers (Performance Traveltrac Aluminum) for years off and on, and they are fine. However, I have recently started riding on the Feedback Sports (licensed from Sportcrafters) Over-Drive rollers, and these are really pretty cool. They have a progressive resistance so I can ride at 17-18mph endurance, tempo at 20-21mph, 23-24mph FTP.
What is making this even more fun is doing it on the track bike. With the fixed gear, I feel more secure on the rollers, really glued in. I am starting right now on a 48/16 gearing, which means a cadence of about 80-85 for endurance, low 90s for tempo, and about 100 for the FTP stuff. I am trying to come up with some metrics/goals for the coming fall/winter so that I can work on and get on top of a gearing, then once I hit some number I’ll increase my gearing and start again.
