For anyone that lives in San Diego, I would like to invite you out to check out my indoor cycling studio. The classes aren’t your typical gym spin class. They mimic a workout like I would give riders out in the real world. Anyway, check it out at http://sandiegocrank.com/ and use coupon code “slowtwitch” to get a 20% discount.
I just did 45 min on the trainer at lunch. And I live in San Diego…and its freakin’ gorgeous out today.
But, min for min, I can get more “work” done in my lunch hour on the trainer than I can on the roads…no stoplights, no chance of flatting and being late, less gear to worry about, etc, etc.
I’d rather be on the roads, but when I am very time-limited, sometimes the trainer is the best option.
I live in Camarillo, CA, between LA and Santa Barbara, and just a few miles from the coast. Being pressed for time with work, a wife, and very soon, a baby; I do three rides outside, Thu/Sat/Sun, and three inside, Tue/Wed/Fri.
It’s not anywhere near as fun, but for specific workouts, you can’t beat it. Plus, it scores points with the wife since I’m technically “home” and the prep time from bike to shower is minimal.
hmmmm. Interesting. Im all about riding out in the great outdoors, but for an odd work out here and there, this could be a welcome change of pace. Any pics of the gym? Wasnt able to get a good look at the gym on your website.
Well, I teach several of the classes, and I am a sexy sexy man I have female instructor that teaches some of them, and is a real cutie. A few of the guys have been showing up to her class just so they can get something nice to look at while they ride
There are plenty of reason to train indoors. Time restraints, darkness, and traffic are great examples. I can put you through an hour interval session that will leave you wasted at the end
