In line brake cable adjusters

The rear brake on my P4 a NEVERENDING hassle. My latest saga with the stupid thing is that it appears I’ve sweated up the in line cable adjuster to the point that it’ll no longer function. Of course, the only place you can put the thing is right where it’s perfectly positioned to catch every drop of sweat that comes off your chin and nose. So, has anyone else dealt with this issue? How did you protect it from sweat and still leave it reasonably accessible?
