If any of you are coming to town to volunteer, register, or support fellow competitors I am looking to get a group to join along on State St. (10-12 bars on that section alone) and other locations on the marathon to cheer on all of our friends. I am pulling into Madison Friday and will be volunteering in the morning and late evening so the mid-afternoon I think is a perfect time to spend a few hours drinking Wisconsin’s finest beer and watch everyone run. Anyone have any interest?

I suggest hitting up City Bar…open later in the afternoon I believe. Its in the basement of a building but theres a stairwell that doesnt look like much. Its on the left side of the street heading up towards the capital by one of the apperal stores.
i would suggest against the City. You can’t see anything since its in the basement. If you want to cheer, maybe State St. Brats because of the outdoor patio.
