As for the rough water, htfu, its an Ironman its suppose to be tough! They should figure out a way to swim up hill just to make it harder!

It was either 2006 or 2007 - I did the practice swim and thought I was going to have my brains bashed in by the waves. Killers. Kicked the living hell out of me. However, on race day, it was absolutely perfect. Looks like you guys are going to have a perfect day.
Just watch out for the snakes. Seriously.
It’s funny how many people were talking about the snakes when I was putting my wetsuit on. Yesterday I was talking to a girl that had just gotten out of the water and I mentioned the snake factor and she responded, “are you on slowtwitch too?”

You must have been in the water mid-morning or afternoon when the winds picked up. I talked to some folks who swam early and said the water was nice and calm. Hopefully the wind will be our friend on Sunday. Best of luck–
