Sure. I wait for the further results and make jokes here and there until resolved.
Now with the positive test result she’s been proven guilty of having the substance in her. The scale of her violation (and the punishment) is dependent on whether she can prove that a) this was too small to provide enhancement and b) she didn’t intend.
Best case for her will be a retrospective 3 months ban, starting from December 8, taking the 4th place in Taupo off her hands and lowering her PTO ranking a tiny bit. If she gets 4 months or more, she’ll miss the T100 race in Singapore and possibly other.
Ok that is correct
But
if we use the sinner verdict
They seem to agree it was the physio that caused the contamination , but they still gave him a 3 month ban . In my mind correctly and 3 month seems fair .
In my mind they have to give her at least a slap on the wrist as this is somebody she lives with ,who should well be aware of anti doping rules and she should have well briefed on the complications.
You can be innocent which sounds likely in this case ,but still if you fail a test the race should not count .to have some consistency,.
My 2 cents
Seems a reasonable enough explanation and with separate tests shortly before and after this should be a relatively straightforward case to adjudicate. Looking forward to the results of those other tests.
For that amount to be detectable via fluid exchange, the other person had their leg amputated with blood gushing into her mouth? Dont think it was sex…
Ironman and the ITA haven’t commented on the case. Simmonds makes no mention in her post of a provisional suspension. Curious why Slowtwitch editors have made this assumption ? Seems somewhat libellous.
Yeah I have and I find it to be bullshit every time I hear it. If it’s not bullshit, perhaps as a professional you shouldn’t be making beds with people using banned substances. No sympathy. I hope she serves some sort of ban.
Suggest ‘have to have ingested’ is simplistic in pathway terms. Synthetic hyperbole.

<pink Kristian and Gustav just posted on Instagram that they have a new girlfriend. </pink
Coming from the bodybuilding space where every 15 year old is trying to get on SARMs, LGD-4033 is typically taken orally. Based on that, I would think the guy would have just taken a swig of the stuff and then made out with her to transmit it?
All I want to say is that her lawyers are excellent. What a perfectly crafted IG post that I would guess she wrote 0% of. This is one of the problems with this stuff. You can muddy the waters, & create a 50-50 narrative of people who think she doped or didn’t or, in a case like this, I would guess a lot higher percentage will be sympathetic towards her. You can create doubt a little too easily, with whatever excuse fits the best. I have no idea if her version is true or if it’s the best sounding story they could come up with to muddy the waters. The drug does seem quite popular in athletics, as something that can help build/repair muscle. Her progression looks mostly linear to me. It does, however, look like she made a pretty big jump last season. 4 PTO scores over 90+ when her best was 2 over that threshold in her previous 4 seasons (her 2019 was quite good, with 3 scores at that number or better). She also had much less consistency, with 10 races under 80 during that time. I know it’s not a perfect comp but 5/6 of her 2024 races were quite good & much better than any run in her career minus 2019.
She’s been pretty good for quite a few years and had some impressive results, but she did a lot of damage in challenge events which obviously don’t garner as much attention as Ironman events.
I’m really not sure if it’s legit or not, but it’s certainly a good defense. As others have noted though, it’s kind of playing with fire to be associated with, living with, living around someone who is knowingly using these illicit drugs.
If it turns out that this is a legit defense, she’s gotta leave this dude. That’s just reckless behavior when your wife’s career depends on bein clean for racing, sponsorship, etc…
7.4.1 Mandatory Provisional Suspension after an Adverse Analytical Finding or
Adverse Passport Finding
If IRONMAN receives an Adverse Analytical Finding or an Adverse Passport
Finding (upon completion of the Adverse Passport Finding review process) for a
Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method that is not a Specified Substance
or a Specified Method, it shall impose a Provisional Suspension on the Athlete
promptly upon or after the review and notification required by Article 7.2.
Is this drug actually illegal or just a prohibited substance? Does her boyfriend using it as a supplement a violation of the law? Is he in professional sports?
very true but in her case we have a test 22 days beofre the race and 6 day after both clean .
and again what would be more stupid than doping in that window before the race unless you think she was so stupid to miss calculate over a 3 week time frame. of course not impossible but not that likely .
