I recall having seen a number of immigration questions answered here before so as a last resort, i will ask mine.
In sept 2001 my father (A US citizen) applied for an I139 visa for me as an unmarried son (under 30) of a US citizen for permanent residence, the processing date of that application is now coming up and i am expecting some news from the immigration office soon. However, since this time i have married (not to a US citizen) so no longer qualify for the category (I am also no linger under 30, but that seems to have disapeared from the criteria)
So what will happen to my application will i:
a) get the visa based on my status when the application was made (unlikely i would guess)
b) move across to the married son of citizen category but maintain my filing date as Sept 2001, but now have to wait for the slot (currently at March 1998!)
c) go to the back of the queue and wait another several years?
If anyone knows the answer i would be very grateful to know as i can’t seem to find out. I am currently living in Denmark and really want to get out of this place.
Thanks William
