so there is no whole foods near cambridge and my team is doing a pasta dinner the night before. i’m not big on spaghetti and meatballs prior to race day. i prefer healthier, lighter, cleaner options. any suggestions? i’ll have a car so i can order and bring to the team dinner.
Where will you be staying? I stayed in Salisbury and as far as I remember there were no Whole Foods type places anywhere around.
Best alternatives for ready made meals are places like Chipotle and Panera. There was a supermarket of the typical type with mediocre food (nothing organic) in Salisbury. I went to Panera for dinner the day before the race (and the day before that). Get some Mediteranean flatbread and a bowl of soup and you’ll be good to go. Light and healthy!
There are no Whole Foods on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The closest is in Annapolis, about an hour away. The previous poster mentioned Salisbury. Aside from Salisbury there is Easton, which is about 16 miles due north of Cambridge. Easton has a Paneras and a Chipotle, but also has an Earth Origins Market, which is may be your best bet. I seem to recall that it has a deli.
There are not a lot of food options in the area…I will be packing in my own food for the days leading up to the race. Post race all bets are off…beer and pizza, please!
