I know I know, it’s in 2 weeks, but I’M in taper and need to discuss about something…
According to Accuweather.com, July 22 will be “Times of clouds and sun, high 73, low 51”. Looks like the perfect weather no?

Prolific prognosticators pontificating prodigiously prospective predictions predicting precipitation (or lack of) piss me off.
just kidding really - taper sucks.
Sounds ideal!!!
My forcast is frogs, hellfire and damnation. Also tornadoes.
Seriously though - the probability of making an accurate weather forcast 14 days in the future is only slightly higher than the probability of making one 1 year + 14 days in the future. The mere act of reading the subject line on your original post was a waste of time.
i acutally checked it as well today, so if it holds it wil be a fun day
.
pray for “light winds” too!
Here’s the 100% accurate IMLP forecast, guaranteed to happen just this way:
7am - wet, very very wet. Some light (karate) chop on the lake.
8:30am - drying trend, increasing breeze. Gusts of up to 50 mph may be experienced on the descent into Keene.
1:00pm - warming trend in the thighs and calves, isolated storms in the abdomen, glutes, and lower back. Welcome to High Falls Gorge, the Cherrys and the Bears, part deux.
3pm - 100% chance of humidity, dripping from forehead.
12am - 100% chance of champagne showers at finish line.
Who cares? WHY does this stuff come up ad neasuem weeks prior to every Ironman? No one can predict the weather even days before. I just returned from Gorham, NH and The Mt. Washington Hill Climb was cancelled. Saturday 71mph winds and Sunday the road washed out at mile 6. Weather.Com and other said 15mph winds (at the Summit) Saturday. I did the race last year and they said high wind but we had 70 degrees and sunny (Summit).
Regardless, find SOMETHING else to focus on becuase even if the weather sucks you cannot control it. Just went through this two weeks ago at IMcda during the swim. I too am doing Placid 2007 and we can control one thing, our attitude.
Peace out.
