IMFL: is there any chance it doesn't run next year?

As we all know, there are persistent rumors that IMFL will get moved. If INMA opened up registration for next year, is it close to 100% safe that it will be in PCB – and that it won’t get moved? I would figure that it would a near definite go. Any reason to doubt that?

IMFL sold out in 9 hours, so I would have to assume that it’s going to be in PCB next year.

at the pre and post race banquets this year the organizers indicated it would be in the same place with the same host resort next year.

Copied this email from Graham Fraser from another forum. He’s not real specific, but it looks like there are no plans to move IMFL out of Panama City Beach as long as they can get permits for the roads and given that the CEO for host hotel is now an Ironman athlete, I doubt the host hotel (Boardwalk) will ever be an issue.

Rumours…love to hear them. Our intention is to keep the race in PCB. We have a deal in place and it is a private deal with the Hotels. The City has never been involved and tourism contact ended in 03. The issue is about roads and the venue.. As long as we have access tothe roads and the Boardwalk is involved , we will have a race.

Disney. They have been nothing but co-operative. Our deal with them has been agreed upon for a couple of months, its the road permits from Orange county we are working out. Lots of construction…plus the hurricanes set us back, …we hope to announce soon…same weekend as last year..entirely new run…no golf course..

Hope this helps..GF

Our intention is to keep the race in PCB
With which the road to hell is paved.
