As usual, the Vitus clan had a blast cheering on the spectators on the bike course. Hopefully, here are some pics. I don’t want no grief about any red x’s.
First, we laid out the welcome mat . . .
Then we passed out some social commentary . . .
And we had proof!
The North Idaho branch of TSR expanded its operation this year, launching a lemonade and cookie stand, staffed by two fine young men . . . Next year, they need to do a better job of spectator education, as many people thought the refreshments were intended for the competitors.
As usual, the Slowtwitch Strawman was beaten by everyone all day long. But he was happy to be out there representin’ in his TSR shorts and Tribe top . . . .
And finally, after all the racers had gotten up and over our hill, the family took a trip downtown to watch some of the run. We saw this unidentified Slowtwitcher rockin’ down the homestretch, and looking good doing it:
Thanks… I saw the strawman on my second lap and it had me laughing out loud. Nothing beats starting a climb in a good mood.
I saw a bunch of people in Peaceful Tribe gear out there and even had a STer talk to me on the bike. I guess that being the only pink-haired chick in the race made me pretty noticeable.
It’s a coop. Home to 10 chickens. (And in the fine TSR tradition, it’s a hand-me-down. A friend of mine got transferred to Reno a couple of years ago and couldn’t take it with him, so he gave it to me. Some of the girls are even TSR chickens. Still laying. The coop is about at the end of its run, though (get it? ha ha!) so I’m planning on building a new one later this summer.
Hi Vitus
Thanks for the support. I was the guy on the QR PicanTi that said hello on both laps. That climb right above your place seemed to grow a bit on the second lap though. You are a lucky man to live up there…very beautiful area and the buffalo farther down the road were pretty cool as well.
