IMC Power Numbers vs Bike Time Poll?

Please post your numbers. Just curious how aero, I was. My pathetic (12 year old girl numbers read as follows):

Avg: 141
Norm: 157
TSS: 328
IF: 1.12
FTP: 211
Weight: 135 lbs
Bike Time: 5:51

What’s your weight?

Unfortunately my Joule got stolen en route so here’s mine from my Garmin. If anyone knows how to pull more detailed info, or convert it using another software I’d love to hear from them.

Weight: 185 lbs or 83.91 kg
Time: 5:13:11
Power: 243
Watts/KG: 2.9

Avg 216w
163lbs
Bike Time: 5:25…14 minutes to fix a flat.

Is that your combined rider + bike weight?

Just rider weight. I’ll probably catch some flack, but not sure what my P2 weighs. It is what it is.

Avg: 167
Norm: 180
FTP: 265
Weight: 155 lbs (plus a P2)
Bike Time: 5:44
Run Time: 4:10

In an open half marathon I’ll run about 1:35-1:40, and my last half IM run was 1:43. I was looking to come in at least about 20 minutes faster on the run but the heat just got to me like I wouldn’t believe, I think the hottest day we’ve had in Calgary all summer was 28C. I was also originally going to shoot for closer to 200watts on the bike but listening to my body and looking at my heart rate a few beats higher than usual for those watts, backing off the power was the right choice I think.

Might be more meaningful to see the run time in there as well.

So far from this thread I’ve learned I have to either get my FTP up over 325+ or lose some weight (180 lbs) if I want to come in under 6 hours on an IM bike split.

Looks like close to 75% - how did you run? Do you have any recent run-only race results for an “FTP” of your run?

Any other posters - please give run splits and open run times if possible…curious if the 70% guys/gals ran better than the 75% crowd…

Dave (another who rides like a 12 yo girl…with FTP about yours but I’m about 15 pounds heavier (on a good day)

Dave - I had a pretty decent (not great) run for me, 4:14 marathon. Didn’t walk anything other than aid stations. I know that TSS would have suggested that I should have totally blown up on the run, so I should be quite happy with that run or my FTP is higher than I think. I did a 4:02 marathon in AZ in Nov 2010 but lots of major variables from that race, including heat at Canada, lost 6 weeks in March/April from training due to torn meniscus etc, and issues with my garmin at canada which didn’t allow me to slow down enough during the early miles of the marathon.

Run time 4:08:56, shut it down for the run and had fun cheering on teammates and trying to talk to Maki Nishiuchi (doesn’t speak a lick of English). Have to race Kona in a few weeks.

I think you’re spot on, the heat in Canada was a big factor for a lot of people I think. I walked the aid stations and the hills but still managed a pretty close to even split on the out and back sides of the run. There are a few guys I train with who easily can take 5-10 minutes out of me in a half mary but pushed too hard on the bike or run and ended up with my split (4:10) or slower. If a person isn’t used to the heat the heart rate and power zones can be an entirely different story on race day versus training days.

Next year I’ll be running in the summer with a sweater on here in Calgary if thats what it takes!

I held back a lot (too much) to try and manage a 3:50 run (open 10lbs heavier was 3:28). Hit target of 1:55 at half, but had foot issues and ran/walked to a 4:10.

And yes, no hot days in Calgary made training for heat really friggin hard. I was still wearing arm warmers in June.

Official Ride Time: 5:50

I went into the race with an injury that I thought would mean I did not start the run. As it was I got to Okanagan Falls on the run, better than expected but gutted at no finish. I estimate a slightly sub 4 hour time for my run were I to continue at the same pace. My run is usually better than my bike.

My Weight: 179lbs
Bike: 21lbs + fluids
