I am staying right by the race course and do not need a rental car for
5 days. Is there a cheap way to get to my hotel that makes financial
sense? I would need to get to the hotel and back to the airport.
Yes there is the Ambrosia Connector http://www.ambrosiatours.ca/airport.htm. I used when I did IMC in 2007. Worked very well and is only $50 each way.
Are you travelling with your bike or using a transport service? When I flew into Kelowna half the plane were triathletes. If you don’t have to prebook the shuttle you may just want to strike up some conversations on the plane and look for a ride. Worst case you end up on the shuttle.

Thanks - I am using tribiketransport so I will not have a bike - Just 1 or two small bags. It is a late flight so I kinda need to have a plan to get back and forth.
The shuttle is the easiest option, the other option is Budget rent a car does shorter term rentals, we rented a pickup truck last year to get us and our bikes from Kelowna to Penticton. The Budget in Pentiction is 2 blocks off Lakeshore so it’s easy to walk back to the strip once you drop the vehicle off. After being out there for years, those are the best 2 options I’ve found.
Sweet - If I can do 2 one way rentals for each day. It may actually be cheaper.
