moving right along…Jordan is looking good !!
“Rapp with the lead
Jordan Rapp has just hit the run and is 45 seconds ahead of Boecherer”
.
awesome stuff…love to see Rappstar take this one !
so he won the race to t2!
its over! he won the real race!
just about to head out to the run course to catch Rappster as he goes by the 3 mile mark.
No doubt he had a great ride today because he made the last minute decision to switch to sew ups rather then clinchers for this race.
"Rapp opens it up
At 5 km into the run JORDAN RAPP (#10). Chasing the leader, however, is:
- ANDI BOECHERER (#35) at 2:15
- LUKE BELL (#9) at 3:09"
WTF…Rappstar on sew ups.
Tom A…what’s going in the clincher vs tubular debate…we want numbers man…numbers!!!
perhaps his plan was to quit if he flats.
in that case you have the certainty that a well glued tubie is a little faster
a little lighter
and that the possibility that the combo is a bit more aero too
WTF…Rappstar on sew ups.

I think it’s been fairly clear from Jordan’s posts on the subject over the last couple of months what his preference is for professional IM racing. If his only “flat plan” was a can of PitStop today…well, he won his bet
perhaps his plan was to quit if he flats.

From a Crr standpoint, only if he’s running Vittoria Chronos…which is not likely. IIRC, that’s the ONLY tubular that AFM has tested to be faster than the fastest clincher he’s tested (a Specialized S-Works Open Tubular).
From an “overall standpoint” (i.e. Crr AND aero), possibly…depending on whether or not the claimed aero advantages of the wider tubular rims are “real” as compared to a clincher with an appropriately sized tire on it…

wow. not too bad. Can Luke run these days?

running better than me*
*this statement is near meaningless
I think Jordan might have biked just fast enough to put stronger runners out of their comfort zones while we was still quite comfortable. Go Rappstar.
