Imbalanced tubular, is this a problem?

I recently mounted a set of tubies on my new rims, when the bike is in the stand and I give the wheel a spin it’s pretty appparant that the wheel is pretty imbalanced. When I ride the bike I can’t tell, but it bugs me that it’s so. Is this a reason for concern? What can I do to prevent it if I remount the tire.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the world of tubular hops. AFAIK you could try to attach tiny weights to the rim to balance the weight but there’s almost nothing one can do since many tires comes from the factory like this.

The other thing you could try is always mounting new tires on a clean rim, inflating and returning any that don’t meet your standards. Because no one would accept a returned glued tire but some return policies state they accept non glued non ridden tubulars. One should do this as a matter of course to make sure your new tubulars hold air and to stretch the before installing them.
