IM Western Australia - Course Advice

Anyone like me contemplating IM Western Australia? Can the Aussie Slowtwitchers advice on what the course is like, and how it compares to IMNZ?

Cheers!

The course is like this. Fast. Flat. Fast. Flat. Fast. Flat.

Swim, its THE BEST spectator swim course. Up a pier 2KM long and back down the other side. It’s a flat protected type of swim.

Bike. Flat hotmix, Very Very FAST course>>>> In between sea and forest

run is pretty much the same

Busselton is potentially the fastest IM course avail. The only thing that will hurt you on the day, is the temp. It could be a nice 25deg cel, or it could reach 35…

Compared to NZ, NZ has some hills, and the water temp can very, as per the rain.

I’ll give you 2 links to find out more…1 being the Busselton site at http://www.ironmanwa.com/ and you can ask all the questions and more from aussies who have raced the Half on this course, at the Aussie slowtwitch version at http://forums.transitions.org.au/ …currently down until Monday morning our time.

There are quite a few Aussies on that site that have done IMNZ and the half over the Busselton course.

OzHEDude,

Thanks for the information. I’ve checked out the website, and it certainly looks like an attractive course. Will try to make it if I can get time off work. Cheers, mate!

6Iron…our site is back up if you would like to ask the question to those who live closer to the race…there are even some who live in Busselton. Click my link in previous post to our forum site.

Cheers and good luck
