Two days at Kona
Two days at rotating venues
Single Day Kona
Two days Kona/Nice (current)
Single day rotating venue
Personally I think single day rotating venue is the logical way to go. The same as every other sport. It’s funny because I think the current system is probably the worst of the listed options.

Don’t bury the lead, is this an option? It begs the question if it’s on the survey is it actually on the table.

It’s on the survey but probably just in case they need justification with authorities on the island.
The options are Would you go: Very unlikely, somewhat unlikely, middle, somewhat likely, very likely. My guess is that the majority of respondents are going to say very/somewhat likely for every option, and Mdot will use this as validation of whatever decision they make.

Just took the survey. I was firmly in the camp of two days Kona.
I liked the This or That format of the last few questions.

I’m indifferent between one or two days in Kona.
Btw. do you think they send to everybody, or anybody Kona-plausible (AWA / recent IM / past WC participation)?
For a piece of data - I got the survey. Have not done a full IM in 5 years. Have done a recent 70.3 with them though.

I actually have a hard time with this question:
In reality I don’t care too much, but likely travel to Kona is easier for me than Europe or else where. So even though I’m going to Nice and New Zealand, I’d rather it be Kona simply because some of the travel logistics are easier and more well established for me.
I hadn’t considered how many of the Kona hold outs might just be grumpy because they have their routine damnit and they don’t want to have to learn a new rental car, travel, hotel, shopping, restaurant, training routes, etc. etc.
In the end, I actually picked option 2 though. I think I’d be happy to have more variety.

Does Kona even want the Ironman race? I get increasingly negative vibes from what I read from locals online…
The questionnaire isn’t about what locals want - they either have this data already or don’t need it (because THE questionnaire is for negotiation purposes, among others).
