I'm going shopping...need some product reviews

I caught the missus trying to sneak a couple of Nordstrom bags into the house this morning, so I now have a guilt free shopping trip to the bike store in my near future.

  1. need a new wireless computer. The Mavic Windtech looks nice…anyone got one?

  2. need new shoes. I tried on a pair of Specialized BG Comp Road recently…very comfy and light for the price…$120…any recommendations

  3. need a new bike but I’ll need to catch her with another man before thats going to happen.

I love my mavic wintech.

It fits well on my aero bar running in the proper direction, shielded by my forearm. It’s reliable but the reading is a little slow from wheel to computer screen. I would give it a 4.5/5 and would definately buy it again.

Same here on the Mavic. Works well for what it is, but the readout is delayed. I’ll be going back to wired for my next computer.

If you post pics of your wife, maybe we can work something out to get you that new bike…

She went to Nordstrom’s? I think that calls for a higher end shoe than Specialized BG Comps. What about the Shimano R300’s? Reports are that they are really nice.

As far as a computer goes, get a Trek wireless. Then tell your wife you need the bike to match.

I have a cateye cordless, its really nice, you dont need any additional hardware to mount it to the stem (so you can use the aero drink with your aerobars without interference.

Noo need to spend alot of $$ on shoes. I’ve ridden the Specialized BG’s for the last 3 years and love them. No fancy ratchet mech to break, just 3 straps and a carbon sole of comfort.

I have the Mavic Wintech as well and think it’s a very good product. I’ve had the computer lose signal less frequently than other cycling computers because the sensor is in the skewer which is as close to locked into position as anything on a bike (let’s hope so at least). Computer itself is sleek and fits nicely on my stem. Also, I don’t need to add a sensor which will disrupt the aero profile of my fork. The skewer does look chunky, but it doesn’t add frontal profile so I come out ahead of the game in terms of aerodynamics compared to other bike computers. Setup was a breeze and is easy to switch from bike-to-bike.
