I Hear thru the grapevine that one can sign up for IMNA races if a college student. Is this true?

Ironman Wisconsin has spots reserved for full time students.
I’m pretty sure Wisconsin is the only one. The collegiate registration is usually open pretty late in the year. There should be info on the wisconsin site.

That’s a great deal for the students. Good for them! Probably has something to do with that race being college championships???
Wish they had had the same deal for active military. I returned from Afghanistan in early August last year, missed the close out for sign up to IMLP by about a week and a half, and IMNA’s response was to the effect of “sorry, but there are CEO charity slots available”… Yeah. I can afford that. I probably failed in not taking it to the appropriate level of decision maker, but it really soured me on Mdot races.
If you want to race a HIM in July I know of a local race with 10 slots to IMC that are pretty easy pickin’s…
I don’t think all ten were even claimed last year.

There used to be the same, or similar, deal at Ironman California for the military when it used to be a full Ironman (2000 and 2001), having the start/transitions/finish inside the Camp Pendleton fenceline, and having a Marine Colonel as the race director. There were 100 slots in the race available through the base recreation services office.
