I'm confused...red wine and testosterone

I’m a 48 years old male and feeling the effects of aging, which includes decreased testosterone production. I still love competing and being the best I can be but I would never cheat by taking banned substances. But I do enjoy a glass of red wine at night which some studies have indicated may increase the amount of testosterone in the body. But other studies say alcohol decreases the amount of testosterone you produce. Who is right and who is wrong? I give up.

Quit drinking red wine at night like an old lady and slam an IPA instead while watching UFC fights on youtube. But precaution your wife that you will have no idea who all those hot chicks are banging on your door.

Pro tip - Your neighbors can’t call the cops on you if you called the cops on them first.

I prefer that Wurrrlllll Starrrrrr for my test boost.

Man, this sucks:

Pretty well backed up by this:

But it gets better:

TL;DR version: Essentially, drinking can lower your T, especially heavy drinking; moderate drinking will lower it negligibly (~7-10%). Very light drinking has been show to possibly raise your T, but not by a lot.

The biggest takeaway: The worst thing for you is beer - the hops cause you to go uber girly on estrogen production.

Great. This is the worst thing I’ve read in a long while. I need a beer…

Huh. That might be a good retirement plan: sit on the couch drinking beer until I grow boobs. Play with boobs while drinking more beer. Grow bigger boobs. I think I like where this is heading…
