IM CDA, Rick Ashburn, where are you?

Did I miss a memo? What happened to Rick Ashburn? The athlete finder doesn’t give a swim time. Does anyone know if he showed up to play today?

Brother Ashburn altered his race plans some time ago. He’s probably having lunch with the family in La Jolla or watching the awards presentation at the SD INTL triathlon down around Seaport Village in San Dawg.

Damn, hate it when I miss the memo.

KP’s got it right (he helped me with the decision). I decided to bail about 6 weeks ago. Too much going on. I realized that spring and summer races are going to be pretty much off my schedule for the next dozen or so years.

I’m spending this weekend at the Pony League baseball tournament, where my 8-year-old is playing on an All Star team. I couldn’t and wouldn’t miss that for the world.

My wife and I were peering through Ken Glah’s website last night, pondering a trip to New Zealand next March.

Two stud athletes in one family.

My youngest is 17. I am happy to get away from her.

Time changes all things.

…and to just show how important this other stuff is…

We just got back from the second round game, where Cole hit his first-ever home run. A 175-foot shot over the center field fence.

Miss that for a triathlon? I don’t think so!

Good luck up in LP this year, Art.

Good for you! Great for your family strength! Before you know it, the kids will have flown the nest and you’ll have all the time in the world to train, race and travel. Right now, the kids are the most important.

I wouldn’t exactly put what you said like that… Myself being 20 years old, and having a 14 year old sister, I kind of know what the deal is, and sometimes I just love to get away from her, but i know if something were to happen to her I would be devastated. I know you probably meant something like “It’s good to spend some time alone,” somethingh along those lines. ^^

You made the best decision.

Those Pony League games are priceless!
You don’t want to ever miss out on that.

Just saw my 12 yr daughter wrap up her soccer season this weekend.
I could have gone to Tupper Lake Tinman- but, there was no way I was going to miss their divisional playoff for 1st place.
It was down to the wire, totally off the charts in excitement. They lost 3-2,so they had to settle for 2nd overall.

They grow up so fast.

She’s doing the Junior Triathlon at Timberman.I can’t wait to see my little speed demon do her first tri!
