Does anyone have any suggestions for lodging at IM CDA for one person.
I stayed at the Motel 6 right off the interstate. It was cheap, simple with no frills, and only 5 minutes to the race site.
The Motel 6 is nice. We stayed this year at the Marriot Residence Inn in East Spokane(20 minute drive or less). $90 a night with kitchen, breakfast buffet and nearby to a Mall if required. They made homemade cookies for us everynight.
I would guess that there were 50 or so competitors there also. Our room would sleep 5 comfortably and 6 if needed…really cost effective(two baths). They also allowed for me to ship my bike case to them the week before. The UPS shipping store was a half mile up the road to ship it out from.
Before I committed to that place I talked with several people who had home-stays available. Either on the CDA website and I even put up a request here on Slowtwitch. Lots of good options and nice people came forth.
Post Falls has some nice options also.
Thanks for the feedback.
I’ve stayed in a hotel (Shilo) , with a local family, and rented a house. By far the best was the rental house last year. It was a 5 minute walk from the race site. If you are interested in a house rental, look on the CDA web site under lodging, scroll past all the hotels and the houses for rent should be at the bottom.
Do NOT stay at the Twin Firs… Scary.
Spokane Valley and Spokane are an easy shot down the interstate and plenty of reasonably priced rooms still available.
I have a reservation at a bed and breakfast that could fit you if you wanted. It is an apartment style set up, bed room, living room, kitchen, pull out couch. It sleeps 5. I will be there with family but will not have 5 total. Let me know if you are interested.
Sleep Inn, Post Falls.
They are very Ironman friendly, I think the manager there participates in IMCDA. Staff was very good about keeping the noises and distractions down.
How long a drive (timewise) is it from Spokane (near the airport) to the race site? It looks like a straight shot on a map, but…
Lodging in the Spokane area seems to be cheaper than what’s left in the CdA/Post Falls area ($160/night for the Sleep Inn???). (Guess I should have made a reservation somewhere at the time I signed up for the race?!)

PDF file from the CDA site.
It is about 1/2 hour drive in light traffic from downtown Spokane/airport in light traffic (95% of the time, in other words). Spokane hotel options are many, cheaper and no 5 night minimums.

very helpful—thanks isbr!
I just signed up for 3 nights in a Motel 6 in the eastern part of Spokane. It’s right off of I-90, six miles east of downtown Spokane. Only $156 total, wow! What a bargain, compared to my $1,000+ to spend five nights at the Hilton in Madison a couple of years back for IMMOO.

What kind of parking is available around the race expo? Is it easy to drive in and register, etc.?
