IM Barcelona…. Standard check in?

I did IM Italy and they required a doctors check up and they issue a “license” stating you can participate in competitive events. It’s an Italy thing, I guess. Fortunately, I navigated the light that hoop, but it was unexpected and frustrating.

Is Barcelona standard check in procedure, or anything at need to prepare for?

I did it in 2020 - no extra info/certificates required at that time.

I believe a triathlon license (the yearly card issued by your country’s triathlon governing body) would have freed you from this requirement in Italy and in most places that require a medical certificate.

I haven’t raced IM Barcelona but none of the races I’ve done in Spain required a medical certificate.

A medical certificate is required to get the Spanish license but you are allowed to compete with the license from another WT federation, assuming you are suitable to compete. So no, they won’t ask any further certificates

Like being a USAT member in the USA?

This is what I need?

Exactly. Most they could ask is pay a Spanish day license but they only seem to do that at the World Championship events, so I don’t think they’ll do that.
If you registered you should have ticket a box saying you have a license.

True - when you register you either check “Have Spanish Fed licence” or “Buy Day Licence for 10-12 Euros” (cant remember the exact amount)
So - if you are registered, you are fine. And worst case, everything can always be fixed last minute in Spain  Lived here for 25 years and raced IMBCN 3x!

Good luck and race well - have fun on our home turf! T

Ah- gotcha!

Thanks …. Looking forward to the trip!
