I rode the course today. Wind wasn’t too bad. The shoulders have been swept and the sweepers were out on the Bee Line when I was out there. The road is in very good condition.
can you confirm that the road just before going on to (or just after coming off) Beeline has been re-paved? I think it’s McClintock or something like that. For the last 3 years that road has been torture.

Well you have your choice of McClintock, McKellips and McDowell. 
Rio Salado and McClintock was recently torn up and repaired for a water main break, but I don’t think that was on the actual bike course (Just a little south of it). None of the rest of it has been repaved, to my knowledge. The last road just before going onto the beeline is McDowell, and that has definitely not been repaved.

Yeah, I think that is McKellips and no, that hasn’t been repaved either.

your exactly right, the mobile home park is just after the turn off mcclintock onto mckellips, and the rough section in just after you go under the 101 freeway. the stop light just after that is where the mess starts. however, the left side of the right hand lane, if that makes sense, is good to ride on
The rough section on McDowell between Alma School and the Beeline HAS been repaved. The only bad section is on McKellips for a few hundred yard after the 101 heading both east and west.

Oh man, that’s not good to hear! Mobile home parks and Ironman courses do not go together well. You know there are going to be a bunch of indignant folks from there that are gonna be protesting the event and yelling epithets at us!
