If IMFL does to DU, what run is added?

Is there any convention? Other than Utah, which was really shortened due to having to get everyone out of the water, etc. what run do they usually add before the bike? Or is it just bike, run?

I just curious, I’m going to assume they’ll still have the swim

What? What did I miss? No swim? What is the deal? Sorry- I totally missed this.

Yeah, that’s right…

there should still be a swim. an ironman is swim bike run…not bike run. you should train for the conditions. if you’re not a strong swimmer then maybe you shouldn’t consider doing it. 3.8kms aint a short distance.

Any more news on this? Reports from people on the scene?

Conditions today at 1pm EST were Red Flag. (Do not enter the water, Rip Current and other dangerous conditions exist.)

However, they’ve had Red Flag conditions before at similar events (Gulf Coast Half 2003) and continued w/ the event.

The article from the local news agency is confusing because Blue Flag refers to marine life warnings, not surf conditions. (Jellyfish, stingrays, etc.)

But dont panic. A front is coming through and the conditions could be completely different by Saturday. Hopefully, the front will clear by this evening.

Thank you very much for the report.

I just finished a 30 min swim in the gulf at PCB. The water is rough. 4 foot swells. Not as bad as I thought it would be. My wife followed me on the beach and I was never in deep water. I also consulted the lifeguard before I swam. He didnt think it was that bad. I think they are being over careful as a result of the death.

I swam 15 min down shore. It took 6 min to swim back.
