I was thinking about putting a drop of super glue or lock-tite on my

Tubular valve nipple before I put the valve extension on them. Figured I’d just hang the tire with the valve stem verticle, pointing towards the ground (so adhesive doesn’t flow back into the core), and of course the core opened tightly. Wouldn’t take more than a tiny drop to aid in securing the core open. Let it COMPLETELY DRY before I install the extensions. Obviously lock-tite would be less permanent but the glue would hold it more securely. I figured this should hold the cores open? Only my race wheels are tubulars on deep rims so I wouldn’t be using the tubulars off the deep rims requiring regular valve stem lengths. So permanent open isn’t a problem. Anything I’m overlooking that may be an issue?

You could also use blue loctite which would be very secure but you could get off after applying heat.

What you’re overlooking is Tufo and Vittoria both make valve extenders that eliminate the problem entirely by moving the valve core up to the end of the extender. No Rube Goldberg inventiveness required.

Wheres the fun in that?
