I don’t think my post will qualify but I’m proud of my handiwork none-the-less. I have a visor that matches my team kit. Was concerned about heat and sun in Couer D’Alene, so I stiched my white doo-rag (initially puchased to keep my hair out of my eyes in my ice hockey helmet) into it. Worked great though it looked a tad silly.
Raced a duathlon today and reused it. Funny thing though, in an all women’s event folks thought I was doing a run-away bride thing.

Nike Gyakusou tailwind collabs are probably the best looking. I have a maroon black and gold one and it’s my favorite hat.
I have a couple nike acg ones as well that I love and wear the hell out of. They stink. Only piece of athletic wear I have that smells which is surprising because I sweat a ton.

I really like my head sweats race cap. It’s so lightweight and breathable but isn’t a mesh top which was important to me because I have a shaved head. I went with straight white because it jives with my kit but I think it’s offered in other designs

Here are two options that are so uncool they might actually be cool since no one else will be wearing them.
Boston Scally Trainer Series - So you can pretend to be a bad arse Southie instead of a skinny triathlete/runner. Comes in Plaid too as a bonus.
Shelta Raptor V2 - Boonie Hat that doesn’t flop when you run and is great for water sports.
I actually rock one of these when doing long runs (2+ hours) or yard work under the Florida sun. It keeps the sun off your head, face, ears and neck. Has a small pouch you can stash a key or credit car in as well. Bonus is that it floats so you can wear it to the beach and swim with it. The front brim is formed plastic so it looks pretty dorky but it is super functional.
For a regular baseball type hat check out Melin hats. I don’t have one but they seem pretty cool. They are also completely waterproof so you can sweat in them or swim in them.
I have raced and training in hats from Fractel - much easier to get these now that they have a US distribution site, as opposed to coming from AUS.
