if anybody from any of these companies would like to contact me, here i am. i’d love to include you in the final installments on our series in online registration.
more details ??
you might note, on the home page (we have a home page), several articles (we write articles) about race registration companies. we have 2 more installments coming. one is just an overview - comparison - of various features of companies in this sector. we will report on security (PCI compliance levels and the use, or not of tokenization), rates charged, opt in/out of email lists and memberships, and other features that we consider important.
the final installment in our series is our own “Online Registrant’s Bill of Rights.” it’s what we think you all deserve as the minimum standard for the online registration experience. we will report on which companies are already in compliance with our bill of rights and which are not, bearing in mind that in many cases it’s not the online reg company that is abridging what we think are your rights, but the RD.
there are a number of companies that are heavies in this space, or are seeking to be. so, Active Network, Events.com, Athletepath, ChronoTrack, Athletereg, IMAthlete, Haku, we’re in touch with these companies, i’ve had a lot of back and forth with them all, sent them a LOT of questions, which they’ve answered or are in the process of answering. the companies in the subject title of this thread, i don’t know if they’re really players in triathlon or not. if they are, i’m confident they’ll find me based on this thread.
How about RaceMenu??? They served as registrar for Spartan series for a bit before they went independent. They are the registration site of choice for some pretty large events. I have the Founder’s contact if you’re interested.
bikereg and athletereg are the same company.
i’ve been working on the hypothesis that the series already written, with all the tweeting and prompting from industry press and news aggregators, has flushed out all the registration companies that are serious players in triathlon. i also surveyed about 50 RDs, and asked who they used. there were a total of 16 platforms mentioned, 14 companies and 2 home grown. you may feel free to drop my contact info, plus a note explaining the articles already on the front page, to the company principal, and if he feels this is his proper market i suppose i’ll hear from him. thanks.
ah, well, that takes care of bikereg then. turns out there’s also runreg and trireg. and i’m in touch with the company principal there. thanks for the heads-up.
