I’m officially a civilian!

This is what happens when one’s life lacks purpose and meaning

You’d think stress free would do the body good.

Stop that complaining! I am always bad at taking vacation during the year, so i usually have around 20 days of use or lose to burn in November and December. Too often I got sick while taking annual leave.

Btw, can’t remember if you mentioned it or not - did you cash out your annual leave or work it down to nothing. With a 3/2026 date for my MRA, i currently have some 300 hours of time off award leave (which can’tbe cashed out), at the 240 hour limit for A/L, and some credit hours. Was think of spend Q2 taking 1 day off a week, Q3 taking 2 days off, Q4 taking 3 days off, … until fully out of leave. Thought is to take a gentle slopeto retirement while accruing additional time at full salary to increase the pension multiplier. I enjoy my work, but really want to start tapping into my TSP for long term tax/SS purposes (too much wrapped in traditional TSP).

Do hope uou get better soon.

I only cashed out 180 hours of AL. I was never one to bank AL and have always been a fan of vacations.

The only time I was ever in max carryover and use or lose status was the early COVID years of 2020 and 2021.

Did you see that we will be able to do TSP to Roth TSP conversions starting in 2026? That will help a lot with getting money out of the traditional TSP. I too have a fair bit of money in the traditional TSP and want to start getting it out to avoid RMDs and all that in the future.
