Only love - bitching and bickering elsewhere, if you still need that

It’s better in every single way. So glad they finally made the switch.
Thanks for posting this. I am in the camp of having gotten used to the new functionality and happy it has been upgraded for us to move forward with!!! Posting pics is so much easier too which should help the multimedia content
It’s so much better and imho long overdue - I only registered because of the change.
Hard work for the admins, and always going to impact long time forum users, but worthwhile.
The biggest goes to the people that come and use it. We are greatful for our active community. We still have a lot of things coming to slowtwitch that will continue to enhance your daily experience.
I bitched about the crappiness of the old site a few times (couldn’t help myself), I have to say the new site solves all the issues I had. Usability is a billion times better. Great job!
Took me a few days to get used to it, but like most things tech related, I wouldn’t want to go back to the old way.
I am curious though, is site traffic up or down since the switch?
That’s a tough one to answer has its only been a month but I will say that we as a community are trending up that’s for sure.
Good to hear the community is trending up! That is key especially in an aging sport cohort. Ideally more new accounts in the 18-39 year old bracket. Those people will be the next 25 years of this sport, not the people who were around the last two decades. Most of the old guard will be done with this sport in the next 5-10 years and many will literally die off so this place needs to focus on the next cohort.
Gonna be tough (PRICEY) to do this sport for as long as the OGs around here. Bikes cost as much as cars and race entries cost as much as flights.
Agreed, much more user friendly.
And slick looking too!
I race on a 10 year old P3 that I got second hand for $1500. In 1990 I bought a new Kestrel 4000 for $2000, so the bike part is on par with 1990 if you show around. No one is forcing anyone to buy pricey. Agreed that entry fees are higher, but even my mid range google Android phone costs 10x what my early Motorola flip phone costed. My current house costs around 5x what I bought it for in 1998 and my most recent new car was 3x what i paid for a new car in 1992!!!
I do agree the sport is more expensive for young people who are the kids of the boomers. Blame it all on the boomers !!!
Regardless the forum needs to expand to a new generation because they have a runway in this sport. The old timers are largely out of the sport at this point (just a few hanging on)
