Nope. LOL I like to swim, I LOVE to bike, and I suck at running. Running is painful!!! You’d like one of the aquathlon events where you just swim and run. I came into triathlons from running, but as I improved on the bike my run went all to hell.
I’m so not a cyclist! Is there anyone else around here who loves the swim and the run but really does not enjoy biking?!
The forum is pretty heavily bike-biased, and I think you’ll find more people who don’t enjoy the swim or the run. Congrats on your race :-))))
I know the feeling, I used to HATE cycling and love running and biking. Not to sound trite, but getting a decent tri bike that was properly fitted to me helped immensely.
If I remember your earlier posts, you’re “A” race is a marathon this year. (which one btw?) And it appears you do a lot of swimming for personal enjoyment. It seems Tri’s are just along for the ride. Last time I checked, most of us do this (these) sport(s) for personal enjoyment. If you’re not dead set on being a Tri monster, why stop the current training? IMO, to modify the montra over at Gordo’s place, replace JFT with JHF (Just Have Fun).
I stopped “training” a while ago. I started having fun instead.
I’m a lousy cyclist, a good swimmer and a competent runner. But, I’m actually starting to like the bike, because it’s new, different and very easy to make improvements there, all of which makes it a lot of fun. After all, it’s not that satisfying to be a FOP swimmer when you know that you are swimming slower than you could when you were 13.

Is this a trick question? Did I log onto the wrong site? =)
As someone pointed out, this website is very bike-focused.
I have found myself increasingly enjoying the bike, and the run is just fun. I love to swim, but the training (due the monotony of the pool) is outright Zzzzzzz.
Congrats on your 1st tri!!! We’ll show you the secret handshake later…
I’m more of a runner, (15 years), than a cyclist, (5 years) - so, I feel your pain. I think it just takes a few years to develop the cycling - that’s my excuse, anyway! But stick with it - it’ll make you strong!!!
I’m doing my first tri this Sunday and I’m getting fired up. Do you feel that you met or exceeded your expectations as far as performance and pacing? Did you go out guns blazing?
it’s like I was coasting down the hills, and if I pedaled I would’ve just been spinning my feet and not doing anything, but everyone else was pedaling and going faster. One day I’ll figure it out.
