I can't wait till Saturday night. Phelps/Cavic smack talk

.

Cavic has a point. . I like Phelps and his coach, but stop whining about the suits. . You always have a choice. . .

And until the ban is in effect it is all legal.

Agreed. Phelps seems pretty pissed even though he isn’t saying much. I mean, what the hell was the I didn’t shave for the 200 Fly record stunt?

I think he is a man on a mission. I think him pissed off + Cavic in an Arena = Dramatic race.

That whole piece is fantastic marketing for Arena, i.e. “Arena could have Phelps a suit within the hour.”

Not that marketing those things really matters anymore after the FINA decision.

Better get those world records in while they still can.

I think my favorite part is that he now claims that he beat Phelps in Beijing – he just did not touch hard enough to trigger the timer. Right.

I think they should both wear Jammers and just go for it… if they lose to someone else at least they will have made a point.

100 % agree. It would be awesome to see that.

What is the new rules suppose to be? Is FINA wanting swimmers to go back to the briefs/jammers?

In 2010, men must wear textile suits that may cover no more than from the waist to the top of the knee (jammer).

very fast semis should make finals tomorrow fun!

Cavic 50.01 broke Phelps WR and he was 22.8 at the 50, that’s sick

Sat will be interesting for sure.

Cool article about the suit

That certainly is interesting. I seem to remember that after the race he admitted that Phelps won fair and square. Wonder why he changed his tune.

Because everyone had forgotten him and his name before this smack talk…

Yeah the ESPN article has him saying he’d be fine if everyone in the finals wore briefs but felt there was no way that would happen.

Anyone know what time on Universal or NBC the semis and finals is tomorrow?

I think the ancient Greeks had it right … nude or as close to nude as possible. We are interested in who can swim the fastest not who has the fastest gear.

If you find videos and look carefully, bring the articles after the games, including New York Times 2 page article on Omega’s (Phelps major sponsor, “no conflict of interest at all” ) witholding of video tapes…and all exchanges that took place between officials, you will realize that Phelps lost that race to Cavic. I was rooting for Phelps, but in all honesty he lost that race to Cavic. This was hard for me to accept, but after some credible writting in newspapers from different publishers that reveal behavior of the Official Time Keeper of the games, Omega, it is more than clear.
You belive what you want.

Lets think about this though too…

It may be true Cavic touched before Phelps, but didn’t hit with enough pressure. To me that does not qualify as winning. In the limit the sensitivity of the touch boards could be infinitely sensitive, to the point the water would trip it. To avoid this, there has to be a pressure limit. If Phelps hit the board second, but was first to push the board with enough force, that means he won.

This would not be borne out or even possible to prove with picture evidence.

um, if you read that article it states that there were conclusive images that phelps won and that cavic later admitted after looking at the stills that phelps won…so i’m not sure what you’re talking about. i have no love for phelps. i’ve seen the stills. i think he won.

Semis…

Phelps: 50.48
Cavic: 50.01 WR

You are an idiot and a terrible speller.
