I was supposed to go snowshoeing today but it is snowing too hard. Yes, snow has cancelled my snowshoe. It is the middle of March in the PNW. This isn’t supposed to happen. The highway to the mountain we ss on is practically shut down and I’m watching it accumulate in my yard. There is a wind storm on the way this afternoon and the radar shows a huge storm that goes from Seattle to south of Portland, and it is moving north. To us.
I feel you pain. Our team had a bike ride around Lake Washington yesterday. I made it 3 hours before I bailed…soaking wet and freezing. It took me 45 min after I showered and dressed to feel warm again!
At least today it is just a pool swim…ugh. I have friends at a training camp in Maui now…
I was in Maui a year ago too. Are they there thru Cal and Ironspeed/Critical Speed? Apparently the had to bail at 7000’ on Haliacala yesterday because of high winds.
I’m watching the weather and the rain has slowed. I’ll finish up my tea and head out before the winds hit. High wind warning, gusts up to 50mph. Yippee!
There was a break in the rain so I pulled out my warm weather gear and now it is POURING again. Sigh. Looks like freezing rain too. Treadmill is looking better and better.
Yup, thats bad, snowshoeing cancelled as a result of too much snow
A few hours north of you in Vancovuer, BC, we were lulled into a false sense of security when starting the ride at 9:30 while it was decent out. Halfway through the 78K ride. the driving snow set in. By the time I got home, my hands were so cold I had to have someone help me get my gloves off and then fish my keys out of my jersey pocket.
