I can confirm: Bike shop owners are going wild with the new P3C

Nah, you and Frank are not even close to fighting in the same subtlety category!

“The enemy of my enemy, is my friend.”

""To all I want to say just one thing: “May God reward you.'”

I’m confused Tom… which one is it?

exactly - you could get called a back of the pack-er coached by the race directors.

Uh, well, since it is two different topics altogether both are true.

Kind of conflicting… the first one in not that christian, LOL…

“I spread a lot of positive energy on this forum…as long as you can go to sleep at night knowing in your heart of hearts that you tried to earn an honest living and fight the good fight for your customers I think you have done right.”

wow…we’re talking about bikes here…jeez

seriously - when can I expect to see one of these on ebay?

No, we’re talking about my career, my livelihood, my business, the business of my employees, the positive experiences of my customers, my number one hobby and the single thing I spend most of my life and the last 23 years on.

But yeah, other than that, you’re right.

I appreciate how you make your posts sound like a charitable donation to the triathlon world… I enjoy the knowledgable and witty posts as much as the next guy, however this is a free-access forum, where people are allowed to voice their opinions.

I don’t believe in bashing or bad-mouthing private businesses here, but seriously, don’t wear your arm out patting yourself on your back. You of all people know how many hits this site gets daily (there is a reason you get so many calls for P3Cs). So, to bad mouth a guy because he complains that your advertising is getting out of line is just silly. And don’t even start on the my livelihood stuff…

I have gotten a lot more out of Demerly’s posts than yours. So I am considering the source on your trollish BS. You must be looking for an argument.

Take some pictures of a P3C, show the measurements, address sizing, educate somebody about something. Tom puts that info up–not just for his customers, but for anybody who is interested. You are not interested, so fine.

And once again, if the forum owner had a problem, he would get on the phone with or otherwise contact Demerly.

.

“I’ve decided that it’s not worth buying anything from him.”

as it’s your first day on the forum, welcome. i KNOW there’s a reason you’re here other than ragging on your bike shop owner’s occasional bad mood.

as to that, i don’t know, i would expect it may rival my occcasional bad mood. i’ve seen your bad mood. what we’ve established is that bad moods are evident among us three.

don has another thing in common with me: frequent good moods. you?

Although I am loath to step in here, I must point out that I have garnered much useful info from Mr Demerly’s posts and his bikeshop website. And at the moment there is a snowball’s chance in hell of him making a cent out of me, seeing as how I am happily domiciled a solid 10000km away from Dearborn, Michigan. This goes to show how extensive is the pro bono aspect of Demerly’s posts here.

So, Mr Tron, with all due respect, your argument is phooey.

Since I am sort of stupid, and since you just started posting March 25 (unless this is a pseudonym), I don’t get your sense of humor yet, so you will have to share your thought process. I am glad I made you smile though

I guess you did not learn anything about P3 sizing, and it elicited comments from Mr. Vroomen and Mr. Empfield–I am still waiting for them to comment on one of your posts, but so far nothing WTF?? I was interested for a number of reasons. But I am a fair man–you don’t have to be interested as well.

Monk, dude. He’s expressing his opinion. Chill.

I’m still a little ticked at you for bagging on meeting all of us in AZ.

You are all welcome in my book. I love being able to “talk” with Bikesport Mich., Litespeed, Rotocranks, Power Cranks, Zipp, Felt and we had Ves Mandric, but flamed him off. Oh and we got that Slowtwitch guy to talk to as well. Sweet, bring em all online. g

If you want pics I can send some nudies!

<<and we had Ves Mandric, but flamed him off.>>

Wow! When did that happen? (I’ve been under a rock the last six-eight months with school).

It is not my intent to add more fuel to the fire and even debated sending this message to just Don and Tom. However I believe it would be wrong to keep this from the forum, especially after seeing the replies and knowing many triathletes just lurk. This will be my last post before returning to obscurity.

Before getting started, lets remember that we are all providing our opinions and feedback here. As Tom pointed out, we all have our own agendas. Everything on this forum has to be taken with a grain of salt. We don’t agree with each other and that’s part of what makes it great. I value this place for its wide array of information and that includes both good and bad opinions. I join to point out the bad and get flamed for it. Fine by me.

When I read Tom’s comment about ATC, I had to laugh. Admittedly this was a knee-jerk reaction as I don’t know what direct or indirect interaction Tom has had with ATC. However it seemed to be a little too grateful from my knowledge of the store and people’s opinion. For the non-Austin readers, ATC underwent ownership changes several years ago. The old ATC had earned a great reputation. The new ATC does not have the same reputation. That is not to say it won’t have the same or even better reputation in the future. In fact, I hope they do surpass the old ATC one day.

My first few experiences shopping at ATC with Don as owner were positive and enjoyable. He helped me and I left with some new toys. Unfortunately that was followed by some very poor experiences. We all have bad days that put us in poor moods. I don’t mind that. When it happens over and over again and becomes the standard rather than the exception, I start to mind. Maybe I had a string of bad visits, but it was enough for me to take my business elsewhere.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have not shopped at ATC in a while. This discussion has actually made me want to stop by ATC to see if it has changed. I hope Don is there and I get the same positive treatment that I had on my first visit. Until then, I cannot speak for what things are like now, but there are several Austin people on this board. If they have been to ATC recently, I would like to hear what they have to say.

That’s all I have to say about that

And to respond to other posts:

IronDad: Thank you for sharing your story and sticking up for ATC.

Slowman: I am in a good mood.

I’ve had essentially the same "issues’ with Don @ ATC as Nice Guy, although the guys that work in the store are great and Missy was very helpful the one time I spoke with her. I don’t care to spend my money at a store where the owner seems to look upon his customers with disdain, so I’ve not been back since Jack & Adams (former John Cobb’s Bicycle Sports) opened last year. And no, I have no affiliation with Jack & Adams, but they do run a great shop!

Don was overly nice the time I bought a Cycle Op’s trainer. He even carried it to my car, which was really strange. Maybe you have to spend over a certain amount of $$ for a little decency.

“This will be my last post before returning to obscurity.”

no wait, don’t do that. stick around. just balance out the scales. give us one post where you rag on an anonymous bike shop owner, but you identify yourself. then you’ll be even.
