I can confirm: Bike shop owners are going wild with the new P3C

With all this enthusiasm, I anticipate a best-seller…

Well, with five customers a day calling and asking, “Do you have P3C’s???.. When … How much???”

We actually considered doing a recorded message on a seperate line. One guy called this morning before they came in…

Yeah, after 3 yrs of lurking I start posting as fast as i can type.
Did I mention I have the P3C in stock!!!

PS - I had quadruple the number of normal hits on my website yesterday after my initial P3C post. Wow, advertising on Slowtwitch (I mean posting informative information) really does work.

I love all these “P3C For Sale posts” on the regular forum, but not a single one where they belong - in the Classifieds.

You’re a sourpuss. Look at the number of posts over the last five days asking for this information on the main forum.

This is information. I sell bikes for a living.

Yeah, what he said only double.

Its nice that jaded bike store owners can still get excited over a new product. Hopefully we’ll sell lots of them (depending on supply at this point) but I also look forward to training and racing on the hottest new bike around.

Me too. I like you. You’re cool. Your store is cool too. Five stars *****.

" I can confirm: We have P3 Carbons in stock for open sale."

Not questioning the interest among the people on this board, just noting the blatant marketing and its absence from the forum where it belongs.

He, He, He…
This is actually Mr Tibbs
I drove down from Dallas to pick up my new P3C that Don got in for me. I’m sitting at Don’s computer making random posts until he lets me go home with it.

It gets worse, now they’re kissing each other’s (insert here your “favorite” body part)…

SAC, what are you complaining about. You’ve highjacked our attempts at “informing” people and exposed us for what we are (evidently body part licking deviants).

Can’t we get back to the original important information about the P3C!!! and stop with the inane posts about what forum this should be on.

Ok, whos going to be the first shop to start pushing these on ebay? Austin Tri…Bikesport…oops, I mean “bicyclesales”

Actually, I think this is rather significant, considering that I was under the impression that pretty much ALL P3C’s to be shipped in April were already sold.

Ah, the joys of being reamed on a public forum by anonymous posters. Now I remembert why I had only been a lurker. Thanks “Nice Guy”

Maybe we can bring up Mission Bay at this point to divert attention. Oh, I know. How about that narrow head tube on the new P3C!!!

you think this is bad treatment??? you obviously haven’t been on slowtwitch for too long
things can get baaaaad…

Me too. I like you. You’re cool. Your store is cool too. Five stars *****.

You haven’t met Don. Or at least never been a customer of his.

I respect Tom’s, Don’s, and everybody’s right to sell anything they want (as long as it’s a legal product). As a consumer, we have the equal right to choose where we buy our stuff from. After experiencing Don’s good and bad moods (and associated treatment of customers), I’ve decided that it’s not worth buying anything from him.

Just my opinion.

Well I know Don and his wife Missy, and I can tell you that I choose to drive almost 3 hours to shop at Austin Tri Cyclist for things I need or for repair work on our bikes. Way back when, when we barely knew them, Missy gave my little daughter a jersey to wear at a kids triathlon… gave, not sold. They’re good people, are very knowledgeable, honest, reasonably priced, are very involved in the state-wide tri scene and even win lots of the races they’re in. I don’t know what more you would want from a tri-store. I’ve never had a problem with Don… but like you said, if you don’t like his demeanor talk to Missy or Taylor (and ask her about her tricked-out Argon!).

Note to Director: Demerly exits thread, Stage Left, leaving his new best friend Don to take the heat.

Be careful, that statement could be seen as an attempt to attract marketing reticent customers to your coaching business.

You’re right, you caught me using the “Frank Day Method”…

Well AustinTriCyclyst,

There is a lot going on with any Internet forum as I’m sure you already know. There are conflicting agendas, often hidden in the anonymity of the medium we intereact in, there are people monitoring the conversations and there are people who contribute consistently and constructively.

As you know, most of them are good people- the overwhelming majority. But there are also some with some type of negative attitude and make disparaging comments and even hurtful and inconsiderate comments.

An Internet forum is the public eye, and when you are in the public eye you will be abused and insulted. Sometimes it is justified, others not. It’s part of the game.

But it is good to have another retailer on the forum and I hope you stay and contribute often. I have been told again and again on this forum and around the world (literally) in person that people appreciate it. An Ironman Hawaii winner told me, in Thailand on a training ride, that I (quote) “Spread a lot of positive energy on this forum.” That was one of the very nicest compliments I’ve received from anyone in 23 years inthe industry and is exactly my primary goal.

Don’t be discouraged by people who say bad things about us. They will never go away, and they will continue to say bad things. It is just the way it is. As long as you can go to sleep at night knowing in your heart of hearts that you tried to earn an honest living and fight the good fight for your customers I think you have done right.

I have heard consistently good things about your store and respect you and your operation.
