I just install the new Hydrotail system on my new bike and I love it.

I’ve been wondering, are the bottles harder to grab/put away than with an X-lab or other rear mounted system?

I have used both on my tri bike and after you get used to it…it does not matter which system you use. I have the specialized cages that help eliminate bottle launching

What specialized cages are you using ?

I tie a pen chain to my bottles to keep them from ejecting
.

I started using the Specialized Rib cage after I read some post somewhere (don’t remember where) and tried them. THey work pretty well if you are place the bottles in easy. They don’t launch once in there. If you jam the bottles into the cage you will jam them through the cage which is definitely not a good thing.

What sort of tool kit is on there and how is it installed? Do you have a spare tubular in there?

seriously? aren’t you worried about it getting caught in turning items? I wonder if a small retractable cord like what I use to hold my forecepts while flyfishing would work?

Or some of those baskets they use to catch debris on gravel trucks
