Hybrid shark found . Three guesses what the "experts" think might be the cause

And the first two guesses dont count.

Hybrid sharks have been discovered swimming in the waters off Australia’s east coast. The finding may be driven by climate change, a research team says, suggesting such discoveries could be more common in the future.

The hybridization could be an adaptation to climate change, the team noted, allowing the tropical Australian black tip shark to live in the cooler, sub-tropical waters.

I know the Aussie leaders are the cutting edge of loony climate change THEORY and legislation so this honestly comes as no surprise. As I clicked on the link I actually said to myself “I wonder how many sentences there will be before we get to climate change being the culprit”.

Their second theory is also a nice ideological reach.

It could also be a technique to survive in over-fished waters, speculated Hueter. As fisheries are depleted, hybridization is a way to keep reproducing
**
Or it could just be evolution.

Evolution doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

It’s adapting to cooler water? I thought it was getting warmer? Which is it today?

when lawyers and sharks hybridize then climate change is a done deal
.

It’s adapting to cooler water? I thought it was getting warmer? Which is it today?

Hint: sharks can swim. Hint #2 - swimming, for marine animals, is a form of locomotion.

Or it could just be evolution.

Animals typically evolve due to environmental pressures.

It’s adapting to cooler water? I thought it was getting warmer? Which is it today?

Hint: sharks can swim. Hint #2 - swimming, for marine animals, is a form of locomotion.

Hint 3: they say it’s getting warmer. So the question is why adapt to cold water?

I got it on the first try.

MOONBATS!!!

Still no answer.

What’s a hybrid shark? Is there such a thing?

and the answer is!!

the article is not science - it’s brain storming

The adaptation is to expand its range so it can live in different environments.

If the region it normally lives in becomes uninhabitable due to environmental changes (caused by teh effects of warming), expanding its range allows it to survibe in other environments.

You need to keep in mind that evolution isn’t something that a species tries to do. They didn’t get together and say, “hey, lets cross breed with another species.” “But wait, if the ocean is getting warmer, why not just swim to a part of the ocean that will be like this part used to be.”

Sharks don’t think on that level. They act instinctually. In this case, the hypothesis (which may be completely wrong) is that the changing environmental conditions due to global warming has forced the sharks to explore different environments. Because of this, they began cross mating. As a result, the new hybrid has proven (possibly) to be very fit in the new environments.

It would be like if it got too hot to play basketball in the bronx and everyone had to move to a different neighborhood to play. If the different neighborhood had different people playing there, and the courts were of a different material, size, etc. then new types of players would excel in these different conditions. the breeding circumstances would also change.

Still no answer.

Fine. I’ll bite:

Check the top map, blue ocean around Australia means cooler temperatures. In some areas it is cooling. Bigger areas are warming. Overall, this averages out to warming though. This is why the prefered name changed from “global warming” to “climate change”. Because people like yourself cannot understand complex subjects.

Until they mutate with Lasers not really concerned

You’re so fucking smart.

Seems like you’re beginning to understand how environmental pressures affect species. I knew there was hope for you.

The people at NASA are pretty smart. Im smart enough to listen to them I guess.

In light of data showing your folksy argument wrong, perhaps you’d like to amend your previous posts and rethink your position? I wont hold my breath.

You are aware that ocean temps are seasonal and change dramatically from year to year, month to month, day to day.

Where I live the gets as high as 70 and as low as 50. You can say whatever you want depending on when you take measurements. You can even average out the whole year and significant changes, up or down, year to year.

Your fancy scientifical picher ain’t mean no thing.

Graph is annually averaged. Seasonal effects are accounted for. Your high school science isn’t going to help you disprove global warming. It’s only going to make you look stupid to those of us who understand the issues.
