Hy-Vee Roll Call

So who is here in beautiful Iowa? The meeting was funny…certainly no more than 150 folks there…LOTS of purple when I was there. Expo is sorta setup like a haunted house…

I’m here.

Thanks to Chip and Eric for a place to stay and some company last night.

Well, that was interesting. Can’t get mad at them for shortening the course. It started pouring while people were still om their bikes. I had a pretty bad race today. I think I was about 8th (or so) in the elite wave. I’m sure some in the age groups went faster. Oh well!

Hope you all had a better day!

Well, I think everyone made the best of it. My kids were really bummed that they didn’t get to race on Saturday. Too bad that they couldn’t have pushed the kids’ race into the early afternoon but it would have been a logistical nightmare with the adult bike check-in at 5:00. I really wanted to race an OLY before Racine and Hy-Vee was to be that OLY and a benchmark to see how I improved from last year’s Hy-Vee time.

Still a great event and everyone involved (volunteers, officials, athletes and spectators) made the best of the situation.
