Looking at either the Archimedes or Helix
Interested in pro’s and con’s from users. The Trishop has 30% off at moment so time to pull the pin

Depends which one fits you better.
I heard a lot of great feedback from my friends, who belongs to the Masters swimming club, about the Blue70. I new to triathlon so I had to take their advice. Plus the 30% off deal from Trisports made it a no-brainer. Btw. Some of the sizes are on back ordered.

‘HAD to take their advice’
Love it.
To the op. are you a leg sinker? If so then the Huub 3:5 is awesome.
Decent swimmer, then the 4:4 Huub and BS Helix are pretty comparable. I have both and very similar fit/feel and times. But now I have a 3:5 I see the light and am cheating my way to faster times.
I have a Huub 3:5 too and its great. Really flexible in the shoulders and fits great.
Leg sinker here. 3.5 is a game changer for me.

i know someone testing wetsuits, and that huub better be going for 100$ or less with its design… 3mm on top and that back zipper design is ghetto
i dont know about blueseventy yet…
what if you are not a leg sinker? does the extra buoyancy in the legs have a negative effect compared to the 4:4? or is it just that the 4:4 will “feel more normal” if you have good alignment?
Used it all this year with no zipper issue fact the breakaway zipper worked to perfection.
Pretty much… I have a 4:4 & it works great for my body position.
I’ve got the Huub 3:5. I love it. More than the differance in the wetsuit is the custommer service. I have never had better than what I experenced with Huub. Very helpful in getting the right fit. and if it’s not right send it back.
I tried huub for several open water swims vs my helix.
Huub seems to be 1-2s faster /100m for the first few hundred meters then my shoulders fatigue and I slow down.
The material is super flexible, but not nearly as good as the paper thin shoulders on my Helix.
My shoulders are super mobile, so flexibility is a big thing for me.
I can swim all damn day in my helix and feel fine.
As some has already stated, beyond the 3:5 concept, I don’t think Huub put nearly as much thought into their design as Blueseventy.
I used a Helix this past season - got it at 50% off on Black Friday in 2012. I was coming from an entry level X-Terra, so it was a big improvement. Far more flexibility and better overall feel. I’m not a great swimmer, and only really learned to swim as an adult. The suit got me a 1:06 IM swim and :32 HIM swim this season - not record breaking by any means, but definitely faster than I was in the past. The suit is pretty fragile though, and already has a few small nicks after not a ton of use this year.
Like everyone says “It’s a personal thing”. I never had a problem with tightness in my shoulders in the Huub. I can’t say I’ve swam all day, but I haven’t been fatigued for the time I do spend in the water.
thanks that’s useful - shoulder fatigue is definitely an issue for me. In fact I’m faster in non-wetsuit swims because of this…
I can’t find any regular stores in the USA that carry Hubb. Where did you get your 3:5? Thanks, Tim
