Hey to all you fellow Slowtwitchers. Just wanted to pass on some info on some good deals I know you are always looking for them.My shop is located in Gulf Shores Alabama and we were hit pretty hard by Hurricane Ivan. I’m running a sale on many items.http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/Tri-itBicycleShop/ is my new temporary site until we get recovered from the damage here. I can also be reaced @ 251-209-8302 or 251-974-5664. I’ll be posting a sale list on my group site
Happy Holidays to you and the gang up there in Michigan. Do you have any Snowbird customers that vacation during the winter down in this area? If you know any please tell them to come on down. The physical damage here is not so bad,at least on my part but its becoming an economical disaster.
Glad to hear you made it through Ivan the Terrible physically okay. I’m still very happy with the Cervelo I got from you in 2002, and was wondering how you weathered the storm. Hope the holiday sale goes well and for better business in the new year.
Made it ok thru Ivan I had some roof damage here at the shop so a little water in the shop but nothing major. On the homefront the yard still is a mess. I can’t seem to figure out which end of the yard to start in. I think that once we get back on our feet and the area wakes up from the mitemare Ivan life will go on.
Not a day goes by when I am not thankful we are largely out of the geographical area of major natural disasters like hurricanes, etc. We have the occaisonal severe thunderstorm but that is a once a year thing.
Keep us posted on the progress of the sale and my best wishes for a strong selling weekend.
First time I’ve heard from you since the hurricane! Take a break from the cleanup and come to the Tri Gulf Coast Xmas Party Sunday. Details at the website http://www.trigulfcoast.org/. Hope to see you there! Any forecast for when the shop will be back open?
Hey Tom ,Yes looking forward to the party.Yes back open now and now open on Saturdays from 9-3. Just myself working here now.Just got in the new Easton Delta Force Carbon bars as well as the new Aero Force Carbon clip-ons. Very nice and light too(520grams for both).
Hey Tom,Yea speaking of Veltec Sports. Have you put any miles on a set of the Look Keo pedals yet? If so how are they? I have always done a blend of different pedals in here but have yet to ride on them. They did look sweet at the show though. Have you ever done any Orbea’s? Thats another line that caught my eye.Interested in your opinion on these.
Well, I can tell you we have had tremendous success selling Look Keos in only a short time. We’ve only carried them for a motnh and re-ordered twice. I think we have somd a dozen pairs so far. That’s good for us for this time of year.
I rode them once. They felt a triffle odd. I think I would have to get used to them. We are actually doing a review on them now.
Orbea was one of few brands we didn’t get along with too well. We had some initial fricion with their warranty service and they were irrevocably married to the old-world concept of flooring a ton of bikes. Hmmm. Come on guys. Excess inventory is the “nuclear waste” of the new millenium. I was adverse to the idea of holding a company’s inventory for them when they are many times my size.
So, we went our seperate ways. They had over ten dealers in the tri state area three model years ago. Now, according to a former sales rep oftheirs, they have less than five, only one according to some sources.
There is a lot of potential with that brand and product, but they need to step into the coffee room and sniff, because they haven’t smelled the coffee yet IMHO.
Thanks Tom for the input.Added to the sale guys. If aqnyone needs tires.I have Vredesteins Fortezza’s and 650c Tri-comps for 25.00 Also have one set of Topolino’s Clinchers for 750.00. Sold the HED wheel already. Also have some Shimano 105 cranksets for 50.00 and some Ultegra’s for 75.00. and some Look 247’s for 75.00
