How you setting up your treadmill on carpet...(not the building process)

So, I have a new treadmill coming. Sole F80 2013 model (on sale right now for 1259 and it is the same as the previous F85! Sweet upgrade for a great price.

ANyway. I have a room above the garage that is carpeted and that is where it will be going. WOuld you recommend putting down a sheet of plywood for a more firm base and a hopefully less shaky base or is that overkill?

The model does fold up, but I plan to leave it down. We have berber (spelling) carpet and I was just curious what others have done with setting up their treadmills.

Mine sits in the box it came in. The top half of the box rests against the wall to protect it from flying sweat.

Depending on the padding under your carpet, a sheet of plywood might make it rock MORE since the padding won’t bottom out anywhere. Without anything underneath the feet compress the carpet padding fully and it’s more stable. My findings, anyway. I do have a rubber mat under mine but it’s probably not necessary. Then again, mine is on old carpet that I don’t give a shit about protecting, either.

We have ours on a rubber mat on the carpet. Currently the treadmill is in the basement, concrete with thin indoor/outdoor carpet. Previously, we used it on thicket carpet - again with the rubber mat. Works great, no slippage.

All depends on what kind of carpet. If it’s short like a burber, you could leave it on the carpet - it will make sufficient dents not to shake. Shag or thick pile is likely a different story.
The debris that will come off your treadmill (and there will be debris) may dictate you put something under it, a sheet would likely be fine for debris but not great for water/sweat over time due to smell/bacteria. I always felt a treadmill matt was overkill, so use a yoga matt trimmed down so I can easily pull it out for cleanings.

yeah, it is burber. I will put something under it, probably a mat of somesort. I need to look at finding one long enough or good enough.

Thanks.
