Jumping in head first? Assuming you mean “diving”…
Tuck your head. Simple as can be really. Just tuck that chin in towards your chest on entry a little bit and they won’t be blown off your face. Too much tuck though and your body will want to follow your head into an underwater somersalt. Good for flip turns, bad for entries.
Look at your toes when your head is entering the water.
OK that makes sence!
Yes I meant diving but I wasn’t sure if that was what it’s called ![]()
and make sure your arms are locked behind your head, hands clasped. doing that ensures that your head stayes where it should.
some goggles strap / head shape combos will not stay put, especially with a cap. I always put my cap on over my goggle straps.
Actually, for tris I usually put my cap and goggles on after I dive in before the start.
i prefer leading with one hand/arm and holding the goggles in place with the other hand.
Then which hand do you hold your nose with?
i don’t. a gentle exhale through the nose has always worked fine.
for goggles with a double strap I pull one of the straps a little higher on my head; for those with a single it should be just a little higher. Double works best though. j
